DuPage Technology Park Roundabout Design | DuPage Technology Park Board

Knight was part of a team of design firms assembled to prepare a development plan for a high-technology research park located on approximately 700 acres of airport-owned property located in West Chicago. Taking the lead on the design of transportation/roadway, electrical and communications systems, Knight provided the design of roadway systems, coordination with county and state highways providing access to the site, traffic analysis, impact studies and intersection design. Knight designed the main north entrance at Roosevelt Road and coordinated the future roadway improvements planned by IDOT, which included a relocated roadway alignment and grade separation provisions for the Roosevelt Road and Kautz Road crossings of the Union Pacific Railroad. Knight also coordinated and designed the infrastructure systems to provide the electrical power, fiber optics and telecommunications distribution networks to the Park.
