Jackson Street Subway Renovation | Chicago Department of Transportation

Knight completed architectural and engineering services for the renovation of the Jackson-Van Buren Streets Subway Station on the Chicago Transit Authority’s Blue Line. The goal of the Jackson Street Subway Station renovation was to provide a bright, clean, welcoming subway station that serves as a gateway to Chicago’s downtown. Additionally, the project sought to serve as a prototype for future reconstruction of the downtown Blue Line stations. The design process included coordination and planning with both CDOT and the CTA. Knight’s design engineering included street, platform, and mezzanine-level work.
